Luxor day trip from Hurghada, small group and Tutankhamun's tomb
Tutankhamun's tomb: Optional extra
Tutankhamun is in almost every title. His tomb is in the price on only a few tours, and on some the entry tickets themselves are an option.
The short answer
Most Luxor tours from Hurghada include the transfer, a guide, lunch and the entry tickets to Karnak, the Valley of the Kings with three standard tombs and the Temple of Hatshepsut. Tutankhamun's tomb is included only on Ranco Travel's Valley of the Kings tour and the Nice Tours highlights day from Hurghada or Makadi Bay.
On the OceanAir Travel tours and one Nice Tours day trip the entry tickets come only with the entrance-fee option, and the Nice Tours two-day balloon tours include no entry fees at all.

The listings for Luxor read alike: the same temples, the same tombs, Tutankhamun in the title. What differs is the small print under "Included", and the option you pick at checkout. The table below takes each listing as it stood on 2 November 2026.

The West Bank comes first: the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, then lunch in Luxor, Karnak and free time for shopping before the drive back. The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities publishes these prices for foreign visitors, as of November 2026. Student prices apply with a valid student card.

| Temple of Hatshepsut | 440 EGP | 220 EGP |

Source: Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (egymonuments.gov.eg), as of November 2026. Prices change; the ticket office on the day is binding.
For the three sites of a standard day trip, that is 1,790 EGP per adult, and 2,490 EGP with Tutankhamun's tomb. This is why the option without entry tickets looks so much cheaper on some listings: the tickets are a large share of what you pay. The Colossi of Memnon stand by the road and are a short photo stop on every day trip.
Booking pages show the price of the cheapest option first. On the OceanAir Travel tours and on the Nice Tours day trip with "small-group" in the title, that option is transport, guide and lunch, and the tickets for Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut come only with the entrance-fee option. Check the option name carefully; otherwise you buy the tickets at each site on the day. One reviewer on an OceanAir Travel tour only found out on the day and was glad to have a bank card.
The Ranco Travel and FTS Travelss day trips list the main tickets as included. The Book Tour Egypt big-bus listing names the sites as visits without saying whether the tickets are in the price; ask before you book.
The standard ticket for the Valley of the Kings covers three tombs, chosen from those open that day. Tutankhamun's tomb (KV62) and the tomb of Ramses V and VI (KV9) need their own ticket. On most tours here both are an option at checkout or are sold by the guide on the day. Several reviewers on Ranco Travel's small-group day recommend Ramses V and VI over Tutankhamun, and one says to buy the extra tickets yourself rather than through the guide.
The tomb ticket is included on Ranco Travel's Valley of the Kings tour, which skips the Temple of Hatshepsut, and on the Nice Tours highlights day from Hurghada and from Makadi Bay.
Every day trip crosses the Nile between Karnak on the East Bank and the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank. Ranco Travel's small-group day includes a 15-minute boat crossing, and OceanAir Travel lists a 5-minute ferry. Most other tours cross by bus and sell the boat or a felucca ride as an extra, often on the day. The felucca on the Nice Tours highlights day appears in the description but not in the list of inclusions.
Lunch at a restaurant in Luxor is included on every day trip; drinks with the meal usually are not. Water and snacks on the bus are included on most tours. Tips, toilets at the stops and drinks are what you pay in cash on the day.
Reviews from the booking pages, each under the tour it was written for. Most complaints on this point are about money: tickets that turned out not to be in the option booked, and tomb tickets or boat rides sold on the day at more than the official price. The option name at checkout tells you which tickets you have paid for.
“Amazing day trip to the most important archeologic sites in Luxor! […] Don't bother about tickets, but choose what extra fee-tomb you want (In my opinion, Ramses V & VI are giving much more value than Tutankhamun!), lovely dinner by the Nile with boat tour. Stop at authentic alabaster workshop to learn about this technice an maybe buy a souvenir. […] Tipp: Get a travel pillow and a book on the van, it's a long drive through the desert without signal.”
“Overall, the activity was good. The team was friendly and the guide explained everything clearly. However, a few things negatively affected our experience. […] We also purchased tickets to visit Tutankhamun and were charged […] per person, although the official price is around 700 EGP. In addition, we were charged […] per person for the felucca ride. […] Although the sites were impressive and the activity itself enjoyable, these unexpected and high additional charges, together with the guide issue, left us disappointed. […]”
“Firstly it was not clear that we would need to pay for tickets to enter every site we entered the trip itself only included the travel luckily enough we brought a bank card and was able to pay otherwise we would not have got to seen anything other than the bus. We enjoyed the trip round the statues and the tombs the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. […] The last stop on the trip is to a shop where they drag you round and describe their products. It was very forced and awkward.”
“I choose tour in my language (Russian), but a guide barely knows it. I’ve understood just 10% information. One more thing. The Tour agency gonna offer you buy tickets in Tutankhamun and Ramses Tombs by cash, but you should buy it yourself. It save you 60% cost!!”
“Really enjoyed our day. Journey took the time advertised, mini bus was comfortable and group size was great only 8 of us and 5 being my family. Guide was great. […] Very hot day and guide kept us in the shade when he could. […] We did the tut tomb and paid on the day for the boat ride down the Nile as wanted to add this on […]”
“Great to see tutankhamen tomb and Karnak Temple which were amazing. Hamdy our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. […] However, we were taken to a cafe after the initial long drive for free drinks, but staff ripped us off and charged us […] for a water, tea, coffee and Fanta. […] We were also taken to another cafe for a free drink which turned out to be a spice shop where a salesman pitched to us and we didn't even get the free drink […] I advise refusing to go (we then refused to go to for other 'free drinks'). […]”

Ranco Travel's tour with the Valley of the Kings and Tutankhamun, and the Nice Tours highlights day from Hurghada or Makadi Bay. On the other tours here the tomb is an option at extra cost, even when Tutankhamun is in the title.
As of November 2026, 700 EGP for foreign adults and 350 EGP for students, on top of the 750 EGP ticket for the Valley of the Kings, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
On the Ranco Travel, FTS Travelss and Nice Tours highlights day trips, yes. On the OceanAir Travel tours and one Nice Tours day trip only if you choose the option with entrance fees. The Nice Tours two-day tours exclude entry fees.
Three, from those open on the day. Tutankhamun's tomb and the tomb of Ramses V and VI need a separate ticket.
Only on some tours. Ranco Travel's small-group day includes a short boat crossing and OceanAir Travel a 5-minute ferry; on most others the boat or felucca is an extra, often sold on the day.
Drinks with lunch, tips, toilets at rest stops and any extra tomb or boat you add. The OceanAir Travel listings suggest bringing Egyptian pounds for the toilets.
Tickets, Tutankhamun's tomb and pickup for every tour in one table.
