About luxorfromhurghada.com
luxorfromhurghada.com is an independent guide to day trips and two-day tours from Hurghada and the resorts around it to Luxor. This page explains who runs it, how tours get onto the site and how it is financed.
Who writes here
The site is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He researches, writes and updates the pages himself and runs a small group of guides to day tours and attraction tickets.
How tours are chosen
The tours come from GetYourGuide, where most of the Luxor trips sold in Hurghada hotels and online have their listings and reviews. Only tours that can be booked today appear here, and tours with very few reviews or a weak average are left out. When two listings look like the same tour, only one is shown: the one with more reviews, unless its average rating is more than 0.2 stars lower. Day trips that add a hot-air balloon flight are not listed for now. Tours that stop selling are taken off the site automatically.
How the site earns money
Booking links go to GetYourGuide. When you book through one of them, GetYourGuide pays a commission; your price stays the same. Comparison tables are sorted by number of reviews, not by commission.
Where the facts come from
Prices, ratings and review counts are loaded from GetYourGuide once a day. Tour facts such as the stops, the vehicle, pickup areas and what the base option includes come from each listing, read on the date given on the page. Background facts, for example entry fees, opening hours or travel advice, come from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the German Federal Foreign Office, the UK Foreign Office and other named sources. Where a listing leaves something open, the tables say "Not stated".
What this site is not
luxorfromhurghada.com does not run tours, sells no tickets itself and is not the website of a tour operator or of the Egyptian antiquities authorities. For binding information on pickup times, options and cancellation, the booking confirmation and the operator count.
Contact
Corrections are welcome, for example when a tour drops Tutankhamun's tomb from its base option or a pickup area changes. The contact address, the postal address and the VAT ID are in the legal notice.
